Community Service Experiences
IU West Ceiling Tiles- NAHS chapter members painted ceiling tiles to be placed at IU West Hospital. The students enjoyed the challenge of painting on the tiles and coming up with subject matter that would offer joy to hospital visitors. NAHS hopes the ceiling tiles will bring smiles to faces and joy to hearts for both staff and patients on difficult or long days.
Brown Base- NAHS members have partnered with Brown Base twice this year to bring arts and crafts activities to the students at Brown Elementary. They have learned a lot while designing projects for the students to create and have had an absolute ball working with the students to make the crafts. The enthusiasm, ideas, and joy the elementary students bring to these experiences is contagious.
Brownsburg Meadows Assisted Living Holiday Photos- NAHS visited with the residents of Brownsburg Meadows while taking holiday photos of the residents and their families. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed up in their holiday sweaters, sharing their beloved animals with us, and allowing us the opportunity to get to know them. We can't share the photos we took of residents here for privacy reasons but we can assure you, the looked great!
Hallway Decor- NAHS chapter members got creative with community service during the time of COVID and decorated the halls of BHS for Valentines Day, Black History Month, and Women's History Month. Here are just a few of the decorations that brought light and joy to the hallways.
Bru Burger Photos- Three members of NAHS had their work selected for display at the Bru Burger restaurant which opened in Brownsburg in March. Congratulations Molly, Annabelle, and Avery on having your work selected for display!
NAHS Artist of the Month!
2018 NAHS/NJAHS Juried Exhibition
Congratulations to the following students for having their work displayed online as part of the juried exhibition: Chloe Cascini, Kristin Walker, Caeleigh Reaves, Audrey Scott, Jen Bowles, Keyarah Peppel, Olivia McIntosh, Jared Boone, and Abigail Eldridge. View the entire exhibition here: https://www.arteducators.org/community/articles/387-2018-nahs-njahs-juried-exhibition
NAHS Hoopla Day 2017- A tremendous thank you to Mr. Daghe, Mr. Dowler, Mrs. Lingelbaugh, and Mr. Poliskie who helped “hoopla” the newest members of the National Art Honor Society today. They visited classrooms all over the building, passing out balloons and acceptance letters to 36 students. It is an honor to work with such giving administrators who took time out of their busy day to recognize these students on being accepted into the Brownsburg High School Chapter of NAHS.
2017 NAHS/NJAHS Juried Exhibition- Congratulations to NAHS members Julia Dryer and Alyssa Bruning whose work was selected for the 2017 juried exhibition. This exhibition showcases the work of talented NAHS and NJAHS members from across the country and we are thrilled to have two inaugural chapter members representing us in this exhibition.
